It features a unique, patent-pending possible-to-speak indicator, which uses a white light above the microphone button to signal when the microphone is ready for activation. Additionally, a green request-to-speak indicator, located both above the microphone button and in the microphone head, alerts users when their request is in the queue, flashing green when they are first in line. The device offers flexibility with a choice between a short 310mm (12.2″) or long 480mm (18.9″) microphone stem, both with a flexible design to suit user preferences. The built-in loudspeaker, centrally controlled for volume from the Control Unit, ensures clear audio delivery, while the simultaneous operation of the loudspeaker and microphone creates an authentic face-to-face meeting experience. For environments with excessive background noise, the 3.5mm (0.14″) stereo headphones socket provides clear audio, with a rotary thumbwheel for volume adjustment. The Bosch Discussion Device is immune to mobile phone interference, ensuring uninterrupted communication. It can be configured as either a participant or chairperson’s device without requiring a system restart. In chairperson mode, users can utilize a priority button to override participant microphones, with an accompanying chime to signal their intention to speak. Key controls and indicators include a microphone button, color-coded LED indicators for microphone status, a light-ring indicator in the microphone head, and a concealed initialization button for network address reassignment. The device also features a concealed slide-switch for configuration as a participant or chairperson’s device. Connections include a 6-pole circular female connector for loop-through connection, a 3.5mm stereo headphones socket, and a 2m (78.7″) cable with a 6-pole circular male connector for secure attachment.
